Valorie K. Ruiz is a Xicana writer fascinated by language and the magic it evokes. She is currently an editor for Fiction International and an assistant flash fiction editor at Homology Lit. She lives in San Diego.
Her writing has been published in places like The Florida Review, Tinderbox Poetry, Cosmonauts Avenue, and Hayden’s Ferry Review. Her poem “We learn to hold the sky” was nominated for a pushcart prize, and she was nominated for Best New Poets anthology by her current MFA program, San Diego State University.
